I love picking out and decorating the Christmas tree. It is one of the best parts of the holidays and this year I want to cut down my own tree. I have never cut down my own Christmas tree, let alone any tree for that matter. And to be honest the extent to my experience comes from watching the classic scene from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when the Griswold family is hiking through 2 feet of snow with frozen children just to get that PERFECT tree. Hah, while that doesn’t paint the prettiest picture of a ‘cut-your-own’ adventure, there is still something so nostalgic and traditional when I think about it.
I certainly want the perfect tree so I got to work doing on a little research on the best tree farms in central Iowa. So whether you want to cut your own too or are looking for some pre-cut options, look no further than these tree farms. And I promise, it will be a better experience than the Griswolds.
