Good news for aspiring homebuyers in Polk County! 🎉 The Polk County Down Payment Assistance program is now available for households earning less than 80% of the area median income. Thanks to a generous $5 million grant from Polk County, eligible homebuyers can receive a $30,000 deferred loan to help with down payment.
Administered by the Neighborhood Finance Corporation (NFC), this program aims to create sustainable homeownership that results in wealth building, housing stability, and stronger neighborhoods
. To be eligible, homebuyers must have an annual household income at or below 80% of the area median income and complete eight hours of homebuyer education before closing on the loan.
Other requirements include owning no other property at the time of closing (current home must be sold), obtaining eligible fixed-rate first mortgage financing through a participating lender, and having a home inspection completed by a certified inspector or approved non-profit.
If homeownership is something you have been longing for, this is a wonderful opportunity to make this dream happen! More information will be coming out soon but click HERE to learn more on the official program guidelines.
