Titled "H.O.W - Home Ownership for Women," this free program aims to provide women with the knowledge and strategies necessary to confidently navigate the often-complex world of real estate.
Buying a home can be overwhelming, and H.O.W was created to provide concrete, actionable, and realistic guidance for women. Sara Hopkins Real Estate Team recognizes that every woman deserves not only to dream of owning a home but to possess the wisdom on HOW to make that dream a reality. This unique program is meticulously crafted by women, for women, with the goal of building a community where participants feel like they are learning from a network of their friends while tackling one of life's most significant milestones.
Research done by the Urban Institute shows that while women have made advances in rates of home ownership in the last two decades, gender differences in financial knowledge and confidence in understanding the home-buying process still persist. Furthermore, women of color face additional barriers to home ownership, and H.O.W. will work to address many of these barriers.
The 4-week course, consisting of 1-hour weekly modules, will cover crucial aspects of the home buying process. Participants will gain valuable insights into financing options, learn how to avoid common pitfalls and money pits, understand the journey from contract to close, and discover strategies to build equity in their homes.
