For more than five years now, I’ve wanted to own my own real estate brokerage. My vision for my own office has been to create the first “neighborhood” real estate office in Des Moines – an office that is connected to its community and immersed in a vibrant neighborhood. I want to create a space where I can bring together other incredible real estate agents in a collaborative environment and empower each other to be the best we can be.
I grew up in Douglas Acres, a neighborhood in Des Moines just east of Highland Park. My grandmother’s house was right next to Union Park, and I spent a lot of time as a kid in the neighborhood – at Union Park, or Chuck’s Restaurant; visiting Hiland Bakery on Saturday mornings for donuts, or walking through Aqualand. I’ve continued to frequent the businesses in Highland Park as I’ve grown up, and I knew it was the perfect spot for me to make my dream of owning a real estate office come true.
I’m the biggest advocate for our city, and am excited to show more people the amazing opportunities to live in the city of Des Moines. When future homebuyers are exploring neighborhoods I want to invite them to my office so I can show them how great this area of town is. I want clients to be able to visit the local coffee shop to write an offer & celebrate with pizza and beer from Chuck’s.
I’m excited to share that I’ve found a building, and have been working for months to put my plans in motion. Last week, this secret project I’ve been working on for ages passed a big hurdle – the City of Des Moines’ Planning & Zoning Commission recommended granting a few significant waivers for my project making it feasible. If the City approves the Commission’s recommendations, we should be able to break ground later this spring on the Re/Max Precision Urban office on 6th Ave.
With all the commercial renovations and new shops in the Highland Park and Oak Park neighborhoods this is a perfect place to invest in my business. This is about so much more than just a building, it’s about connecting the dots and adding to a cohesive neighborhood that is thriving and full of life.
Thanks to MA Architecture for these fabulous renderings. I can’t wait to see the vision come to life.
If you know of a Realtor that is also passionate about Des Moines and our community and would be a good fit for our office, please send them my way!
